i, the black man

after much inner deliberation, i have decided to make this poem my first post it is a poem i wrote after completing an essay on race and gender specifically the black  male. now i do not assume to speak for ALL black men, however, what i write or wrote may resonate with a few. without any more long talk see below:

i, the black man.

i, the Black Man, represents oppressor and oppressed

at the same time,

unable to hide

not heard or seen (at times)

the ultimate cool

an object of fear
a lone figure on a background of white
men, am I a minority, am I angry?
hell yeah...hell no!
a phenomenon
a shepherd and a sheep
enter dialogue with me and see
what I'm feeling, feel what I’m seeing
being a Black Man is not all that I am.

  1. You are indeed a man of black and I fully understand the significance of that... and I love every inch of you as I walk with you side by side my black king... entering into chapters unknown and stories yet to be told to the generations following us... plus I bathe in glee as you finally use your God given creativity... an activity thats taken years to unfold... love sonneteer
